THE DINNER SERIES

This project consisted of a series of performances on food, the city, and the life of archives. Taking off from a found photograph of one of gallerist Emily Harvey’s dinner parties at her gallery in Soho circa 1980. The Dinner Series reenacted the original spatial layout of Harvey’s party to reflect on the changes of Lower Manhattan throughout the decades. The project aimed to stand as a confabulation about the gentrification of Soho through the activation of archival materials, the ephemeral nature of performance art, and storytelling as a mode of creating collective memory and experiences.
